The news, announced at the Toyko Games Show in Japan, means the redesigned console has sold 50,000 units a day in the last 21 days around the world.
Losing a small weight does wonders to the bank balance according to electronics giant Sony as the company confirmed it’s shifted over 1 million PS3 slim consoles in the last two weeks since its relaunch.
The new console, which saw a price drop to £250 in the UK and $299 in the US, features a 120GB hard drive, Blu-ray player as well as a slimmer smaller form factor.
